Rules
1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the ZDaemon Duel League (ZDDL). The ZDDL will consist of one versus one play. Our intent is to provide a fun league for all skill levels while keeping the ZDaemon duel community strong.

2. SIGN UPS

Sign ups are open to everyone; however, this is a North American league so anyone signing up must be prepared to play on North American servers. Aliasers will not be tolerated.

3. CLIENTS

ZDaemon 1.08 is the only client allowed at this time.

4. GAME SETTINGS

Frag limit: 50
Time limit: None
Deathmatch Flags*: 202052
Deathmatch Flags2*: 132608
sv_fineticks 1

*Or some equivalent but different numbered settings.

5. LEAGUE FORMAT

ZDDL spans group stages followed by single elimination playoffs. To ensure healthy and fair competition, skill divisions will be created. Each division will be split into groups for group stages. Playoffs will follow, and only a limited number of playoff spots will be available for each group in a division. All regular season matches will follow a best-of-3 rounds format. Playoff matches will use a best-of-5 format.

6. MAPS

The ZDDL map pool this season consists of: DooM2 Map01, Judas23_ Map23, Dwango5 Map01, Dwango5 Map07, and three additional maps.*

*These maps will be voted on by the league participants.

7. MATCH FORMAT

Group stages:

Players will use the flipcoin command to determine who wins the initial coin toss. The loser of the coin toss will start eliminating maps from the 7 map pool. Players take turns eliminating maps until both players have eliminated 2 maps each. In the next step the loser of the coin toss will pick the 1st map to play from the remaining maps and then the winner of the coin toss picks the 2nd map. The remaining map will be the 3rd map.

Playoffs:

Players will use the flipcoin command to determine who wins the initial coin toss. The loser of the coin toss will start eliminating maps from the 7 map pool. Players take turns eliminating maps until both players have eliminated 1 map each. In the next step the loser of the coin toss will pick the 1st map to play from the remaining maps, then the winner of the coin toss picks the 2nd map, the loser picks the 3rd map, the winner picks the 4th map. The remaining map will be the 5th map.

8. SERVERS

Servers should be chosen with fairness in mind for both players*. As long as a reasonably fair match can be played on one server, that server should be able to host all games in a given match (although players can mutually agree to play on a combination of servers). In cases where players cannot decide on a server for their match, disputes will be settled by an admin.

*This is a North American league and players from other continents are agreeing to play on North American soil when they sign up.

9. REPORTING MATCHES

The winner of each match is responsible for recording demos and screenshots. Screenshots must be 640*480 or smaller in JPG format. To auto record demos and logs in Zlauncher, go under Settings->General->Extra Command Line Parameters and add "-netrecord %DATE%_%TIME%_%WAD% +logfile %DATE%_%TIME%_%WAD%.txt" without quotes. Zip files should contain the demo and screenshot. See the guidlines on the forums for more information on match posting.

10. CONDUCT

Players are expected to treat opponents and administrators with respect and courtesy. Players who are subject to valid complaints or give administrators a hard time will be removed. If a player receives a global ZDaemon ban for whatever reason, there may be a subsequent suspension from ZDDL.

11. CHEATING

No cheating of any kind will be tolerated. Aimbots, wall hacks, team speak ghosting, etc. are all considered cheating. However, cheating may not be limited to these methods. To help ensure participants that they will not face cheaters, anyone with a cheating past will not be allowed to sign up.

12. CONTACT

You can send email to the administrators or contact us on #ZDDL in irc.quakenet.org. Don't forget to visit our forums.
